So what is OurDream, really?

OurDream is an all-in-one AI girlfriend that tries to do everything at once: chat, image generation, video, voice, and memory, under a single subscription. It’s operated by Dream Studio USA, Inc. The pitch is simple: most of what the premium companions do, at a price you can see before you sign up.

The value play: the whole package for less

This is the reason OurDream exists. Instead of paying for one tool for chat and another for images, you get the lot in one place. On paper it covers nearly the same core features as Candy AI, and unlike Candy it publishes its prices. That’s why it earns our highest value score among companion apps (4.1/5).

Video: real, priced, and not instant

OurDream generates videos of your companion, up to 60 seconds, at a published 100 DreamCoins per 5 seconds (“Ultra” quality costs 200). Set your expectations on timing: OurDream says a short clip can take around 90 seconds and a 60-second video a few minutes, and a generation that times out is cancelled and its coins refunded automatically.

Memory and customization

OurDream advertises a four-layer memory system that tracks your preferences, reactions, conversations and history across sessions, with the option to pin specifics. We haven’t yet measured how well it recalls a detail days later, so treat that as the company’s promise, not our finding. The builder is documented in detail: appearance and outfit, 46 personality traits, 135 occupations, 19 voices, and up to 100,000 characters of backstory, in a realistic or anime style.

The free tier: thinner than it looks

OurDream says you can explore it without a subscription, and that a new account starts with 55 DreamCoins, no credit card required. Subscribers chat for free, but without a subscription every chat message costs 1 DreamCoin, so those 55 coins are a short trial of the chat. You need an active subscription to buy more coins, and image and video generation require a plan.

Privacy, and the DreamCoins tax

Two honest caveats. First, privacy. On security, OurDream’s privacy policy is reassuring: data is encrypted at rest (AES) and in transit (TLS 1.3), on SOC 2-certified hosting. The issue is use, not storage. Your chats are part of the “User Content” OurDream collects, the policy allows it to use that data to train its AI models, and it works with third-party analytics and advertising services. None of that is end-to-end encryption, so keep personal details out of your conversations.

Second, the DreamCoins tax. You pay the subscription and still ration coins for images and video. Every plan includes 1,000 DreamCoins a month. At OurDream’s published rates, that’s 200 in-chat images at 5 coins each, or 50 seconds of standard video at 100 coins per 5 seconds. Voice calls cost 50 coins a minute. For light and moderate use it’s fine, but if photos are the main use, the value starts to unravel as you top up.

Refunds are limited: none once more than 25% of a purchase has been used, none on a monthly plan whose coins are spent, and never for crypto payments.

Voice and the rough edges

OurDream lists 19 voices. Voice calls cost 50 DreamCoins a minute, and narration is free with some voices and 5 coins a paragraph with premium ones. How natural they sound is something we haven’t judged yet. There’s no native app (web and mobile browser only), and OurDream admits its moderation is “a bit too sensitive right now and may flag safe content”. Excellent value on paper, then, but not frictionless.
