Candy AI Shorts: What They Are, How to Watch, and What's Behind the Paywall
Quick answer
Candy Shorts are short, scripted AI video series starring Candy's characters, with episodes under two minutes. You watch them from candy.ai/candy-shorts; the spicy series need an account, and they live apart from your chats.
Shorts are the video side of Candy AI, watched in a feed rather than played out in a chat. Everything below comes from Candy’s own documentation and its public Shorts library.
What Candy Shorts actually are
Candy describes Shorts as “short, AI-generated cinematic videos featuring Candy.ai characters in scripted scenarios”. In practice:
- Each episode is a written scene with a beginning, a middle and an end.
- Episodes are short: Candy says they typically last under two minutes.
- They’re series, with different characters, themes and visual styles.
- They’re separate from your chats. Watching a Short doesn’t change your relationship or chat history with a character.
The difference from the rest of Candy is authorship. In chat, you steer the story. In Shorts, the story is already written and you watch it.
How to watch them
Shorts live at candy.ai/candy-shorts. The library can be filtered by character and by tag, including a “New” tag and a “Spicy” tag. On September 24, 2026, the public library listed 20 series: 8 carried a “New Episodes” badge, and 2 spicy series showed a “Sign up to view” prompt instead of a cover.
Seen a Candy Short on TikTok or YouTube?
Candy’s own site links to an official TikTok account, @trycandyai. On September 28, 2026, it had 22 videos and about 5,600 followers, without TikTok’s verified badge. The same footer links to a YouTube channel under the same handle, but that link currently leads to a “not found” page.
Candy’s help center doesn’t say that Shorts episodes are published on either platform: it describes them as something you watch at candy.ai/candy-shorts. So if a clip caught your eye elsewhere, check that it was posted by @trycandyai, then go to the Shorts library for the full series. The spicy ones only open once you’ve signed up.
What’s free, and what needs Premium or tokens
Here’s what Candy’s documentation settles, and what it doesn’t.
| Question | What Candy documents |
|---|---|
| Can you browse the library without an account? | Yes, the series list is public |
| Can you watch the spicy series without an account? | No, they show “Sign up to view” |
| What does a free account include? | 5 chat messages, one custom character, one image |
| What does Premium include? | Unlimited chat and 100 tokens a month |
| Does watching a Short cost tokens? | Not documented |
| Is Premium required to watch? | Not documented |
For how tokens work across the rest of Candy, see our guide to Candy AI tokens.
From an episode to a chat
Shorts feature Candy’s characters, and chat is where you talk to them. Candy is explicit that the two are kept apart: what you watch doesn’t feed into your chat history. What its documentation doesn’t describe is the path between them, for instance a button at the end of an episode that opens a chat with its star.
What the catalog covers
The series cover a handful of recurring themes: romance and dating, relationship drama such as marriage and infidelity, workplace and service settings, neighbors and roommates, fantasy, and step-family scenarios. How explicit they are varies from one series to the next, and the ones Candy tags as spicy sit behind signup. We don’t list individual titles, and we don’t rank series on how explicit they are.
Worth it?
It depends on what you come to Candy for. If you want a finished story you can watch in a couple of minutes, with no prompting, Shorts are a format none of Candy’s chat features replace. If you’re mainly paying for a companion who talks back, Shorts are a side feature: they don’t touch your chats, and Candy doesn’t promise a release schedule.
The one thing to settle before paying is cost. Candy doesn’t document whether episodes spend tokens, so watch one or two from a free account first and note whether any paywall appears. Our Candy AI review covers what the subscription and tokens buy everywhere else.
Questions, answered
Is Candy Shorts free?
Part of it is visible without paying: the Shorts library at candy.ai/candy-shorts lists the series, but the spicy series ask you to sign up before you can view them. Candy's help center doesn't say whether watching episodes spends tokens or requires Premium, so check before you commit money.
Do I need a Candy AI account to watch Shorts?
For the spicy series, yes: they show a 'Sign up to view' prompt. A free Candy account also gives you 5 chat messages, one custom character and one image.
How long is a Candy Shorts episode?
Candy says episodes typically last under two minutes, each with a beginning, middle and end.
Can I chat with the characters from Candy Shorts?
Shorts feature Candy's characters, and chat is a separate part of the app. Candy's help center says Shorts don't affect your relationship or chat history with a character. Whether you can jump from an episode straight into a chat is something we're still confirming.
How often do new episodes come out?
Candy doesn't commit to a schedule. Its help center says new Shorts may be added over time but release dates aren't guaranteed, even though the Shorts page description mentions weekly episodes. Series with fresh episodes carry a 'New Episodes' badge.
